PPPA – WEEKLY EMAIL BLAST
In this week's blast:
ISSUE 1 INITIATIVE ON UPCOMING BALLOT
For those of you that may not know, the previous Trails and Open Spaces initiative “2B” a couple years ago provided funds to enable the Colorado Springs Parks Recreation & Cultural Services to install the lighting at the Monument Valley Park 15 court facility. It also provided funding to the various improvements currently underway at the park. PPPA as a 501(c)3 can support ballot initiatives, but not candidates running for office. Initiative 1 will ensure that the funding for future park’s improvements, trails and open spaces is extended to continue to fund various parks, trails and open spaces projects will continue to make Colorado Springs a beautiful place to live, visit and play.
--Over the past 25 years TOPS has
-Preserved 7500 acres of Open Space
-Built or improved 67 Parks
-Added 53 miles of Trails
Without the 20-year extension
-No continued funding for purchasing open space
-Funding for parks and trails will be reduced
Protect our outdoor spaces beyond 2025!
