PPPA – WEEKLY EMAIL BLAST
In this week's blast:
The Pikes Peak Pickleball Association is 12 years old and in the year 2022 made important decisions to move the organization forward: opening Board meetings for members to attend and speak, establishing a process to appoint new Board members, and updating the bylaws and policies. Important work was accomplished working with the city to influence the design of the new Coleman Community Park planned for the east side of Colorado Springs. PPPA’s community outreach this year was to two specific groups, Wounded Warriors and an underserved elementary school. PPPA continued to mentor and assist nascent pickleball associations across the country. Education and Training programs blossomed and were improved with a new app for Ladder Play and a new Round Robin 4.0 level to meet the demand. PPPA reinstated the membership ice cream social that had elapsed since COVID and introduced a new Fall Ya’ll social. After this year, the Association is in a good position to focus even more on its mission of promoting the sport of pickleball in 2023.
The 2022 PPPA End of Year Report explains many of PPPA's initiatives, accomplishments, and financial posture for last year. Please take the time to read here. Thank you for your continued support as we continue to support our pickleball community.

PPPA MEMBERSHIP DUES INCREASE AND THE REASONS WHY
A PPPA individual membership has been $20/year for the last 13 years (ever since PPPA was formed in 2012) and the Board recently voted to increase the amount to better support key programs and growth of pickleball in El Paso County and to be more comparable to other pickleball organizations around the country. Membership dues help pay for the costs that benefit all pickleball players:
AND VERY IMPORTANTLY, it is an exciting time for PPPA to be involved in the design and building of additional pickleball venues in our local area—like we’ve done in the past at Monument Valley Park, John Venezia Community Park and Bear Creek Regional Park. Over the next few years, PPPA will again help co-fund new pickleball capabilities with the Association's money, working closely with COS Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services as well as El Paso County Parks on the following initiatives:
Effective Feb 1, 2023, the PPPA membership dues structure will be:
Thank you for your membership that help make the Colorado Springs area a great place to learn and play pickleball.
