          WOUNDED WARRIORS OUTREACH PROJECT

PPPA hosted a Wounded Warrior Outreach Project at MVP on Wed Oct 26.  President Joe Johnson, Education and Training Director Dan Lovelace, Past President Jeff Norton, and members and friends of PPPA Sandy Shippey, David Wichern, Steve Anderson, Mary Koch, and Terry Koch were the instructors working with the eight veterans at the pickleball clinic.

The players were all beginners but took to the game quickly.  Four of the participants met again at MVP three days later to play pickleball with paddles and balls donated by Joe Johnson.  Both instructors and players had a great time and PPPA looks forward to doing future Wounded Warrior Outreach projects in the future.

PPPA PROMOTES PICKLEBALL TO THE AFA FALCON FANS AT THE AF FOOTBALL GAME HELD NOVEMBER 12

PPPA was pleased to be asked to participate in the pre-game fan zone at the AFA military appreciation game on Saturday, November 12 against New Mexico.  In Falcon Alley near gate 2 of Falcon Stadium, PPPA set up a tent, banners, and a mini court with portable net and paddles to demonstrate and invite attendees to play.  For two hours before kickoff, PPPA members interacted with fans while playing, explaining, and talking pickleball.  The PPPA tent was so popular, that the AFA asked PPPA to participate again next year.
