A well-written code of conduct clarifies an organization's mission, values and principles, linking them with standards of professional conduct. The code articulates the values the organization wishes to foster in leaders and members and, in doing so, defines desired behavior.
Having a code of conduct in place for PPPA provides the mechanism to deal with any current or future instances of questionable and/or negative behavior. Furthermore, it demonstrates The Board's commitment to representing and responding to the needs of all of its members, not just a select few, in setting expectations and holding everyone accountable.
