PPPA – WEEKLY EMAIL BLAST
In this week's blast:
Hello fellow PPPA members! My name is Bruno Mediate and I have been your PPPA Treasurer since September 2021. As a result of Bob Jepson's departure from the local area and subsequent resignation, I volunteered and was appointed by your Board of Directors to complete his current term which ends in June 2022. Bob has moved down to sunny Florida to play outdoor, warm weather pickleball year-round!
I recently completed the Calendar Year 2021 financial accounting and reconciliation of PPPA's finances. Per our PPPA bylaws, Section 5.6, an annual audit of our financial records is to be conducted. I am seeking 2 or 3 PPPA members in good standing who would be willing to review the PPPA financial accounting records from calendar year 2021, and then report results/findings to the Board of Directors.
If you are interested in serving as an auditor, please send an email with your name, a brief description of qualifications, and your contact information (name, email address, cell phone number) to treasurer@pikespeakpickleball.com no later than next Sunday, February 20th. The Board will review the qualifications of everyone who applies and select 3 auditors.
If you have any questions, please send those to that same treasurer email address.
Dink On!
Bruno Mediate, Treasurer
El Paso County Parks has finalized their pickleball instructor permit process. Detailed information can be found here. Interested parties should contact EPCP at 719.520.7529 or email them at parks@elpasoco.com to request an application form. The general public should be aware that Court #12 has been designated permitted instructor use from 12 noon – dark.
El Paso County Parks maintains Bear Creek Regional Park and therefore makes the determination on whether to close the Bear Creek pickleball courts due to snow/ice and when to reopen them. EPCP will lock the gates and allow snow to melt naturally so that the Contractor Construction Warranty is not voided. Any surface damage like has happened to the Monument Valley pickleball courts due to snow/ice chipping and scraping is explicitly the trigger that will void the Bear Creek court warranty. Therefore, usage of snow clearing tools like shovels is never permitted on the Bear Creek courts!
EPCP will notify Pikes Peak Pickleball Association personnel on the closure and reopening of the Bear Creek courts. PPPA will broadcast these updates on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ColoradoPickleball).
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we ensure prolonged enjoyment of this fabulous facility.

PPPA Director of Special Projects & PPPA Liaison to El Paso County Parks
